The Pakistan cricket team has embarked on their journey back to Pakistan from Florida, following an unanticipated early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024.
The cricketers will first land in Dubai from where they will catch flights to their respective hometowns in Pakistan.
The team’s captain, Babar Azam, along with key players Haris Rauf, Imad Wasim, Azam Khan, and Mohammad Amir, are set to travel separately from the rest of the squad.
The cricketers are expected to land in Pakistan in the early hours of June 19th. However, Captain Babar Azam’s return is scheduled for June 22nd.
After the World Cup duties conclude, Gary Kirsten, the head coach of the national cricket team, will be returning to his home. Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir intends to spend an additional day or two in the United States before he proceeds to England to join the Derbyshire cricket team.
Pakistan’s journey in the World Cup was cut short as they could not advance to the Super 8 round. The team’s campaign was marked by two significant losses in the initial stage—one being a surprising defeat to the USA and the other a loss to India, which was a closely contested match.
